Your guide to the right skin care during Holi

Holi is one of the most colorful festivals in our country and it is played with a whole heart.
While traditionally, it is celebrated with dry gulal and plain water, these days Holi is celebrated
with synthetic pigments as well. The effects of playing Holi not only discomfort the skin, hair,
and eyes but also hazardous for health. Apart from daily skincare, you might have to follow
some of the tips which can protect your skin. However, it is always a great idea to stay away
from synthetic chemicals. Perhaps some little tips can help you in the long run.
Tips to protect your hair and skin from the colors:
1)    A day before the D-day, apply body oil all over the body and massage it into the skin.
This will hydrate the skin so that the skin absorbs less color the next day. You can also oil your
hair to form a layer of protection.
2)    Before playing Holi, apply body lotion to your body. Protect the areas around the eyes by
applying some Vaseline. You can even use baby oil on the eyelashes and nails to protect. In
addition to it, you need to always wear full-sleeved clothing to avoid direct exposure to the
colors.
3)    Once the Holi is over, use a gentle face wash and body wash. You can use a scrub to
exfoliate your skin. Take a loofah and add some shower gel into it. Ensure that the products
you use are made from natural ingredients. The products rich in chemicals can make the situation
worse. For hair, apply a clarifying shampoo and then apply some conditioner on the lengths of
the hair. Leave on for a couple of minutes and wash with cold water. If you have colored hair,
then do not forget to apply a color protect conditioner.
4)    After removing all the colors, apply a nourishing body lotion on your damp body. This will
help the cream to penetrate the skin and keep it supple. For your face, pick a good moisturizing lotion
and moisturize the skin well as the skin tends to become dry due to excess colors.
5)    If you have sensitive skin, then your skin might itch after exposure to certain products. In this
scenario, you must ensure you play Holi only with organic colors and plain water. Remember to
follow the above steps to keep your skin undamaged.
6)    Redness and skin irritation are common as the synthetic colors are not good for the skin. If
you also face redness or skin irritation, then use a good moisturizer to soothe the skin afterward.
You might also use an antibiotic based cream to take care of the allergy.

These are some of the best ways to keep your skin hydrated and supple during the Holi season.
Now you can also enjoy this vibrant festival without thinking about your skin twice. Keep the organic
products at your home and stay worryless. Make sure you enjoy the day to the fullest.
